An Open Letter to the President Nigeria
Humanitarian needs ‘rising fast’ in Niger Delta region of Nigeria. Health facilities have closed because of the lack of medical supplies. The ongoing flood season of 2022 resulting in more than 600 fatalities, 1.5 million displaced people and impacted more than 3.5 million people
This statement is released in response to the unfortunate, current underlining, and tumultuous events within the Great Ijaw Nation
This is a historic period in Nigeria and the Ijaw people cannot afford to be compliant onlookers. We are a great and noble people and must take our rightful place in the comity of nationalities. Please do your sacred duty as a valued and respected patriot of Ijaw land.
There have been perennial social, economic and political problems, especially in the five decades. Therefore, we are sick and tired of the political quagmire that has been raging on since the forceful amalgamation of the Northern and Southern regions of Nigeria in 1914. Since the country is always at the brink of disintegration and the fundamental question is: Should Ijaw people be: an independent country, a part of Biafra, a part of Odudwa, a part of Arewa, part of BRACED, or any other country? The time for lamentation is over. Let us unite and speak with one voice. Do it for the sake of our young ones and generations yet to come. Do it for the sake of posterity. Do it for your place in history.
